We could all agree that it was time for new dodgeballs and the new ones showed up just in time, but we ran into a problem we have never had before and here is a little back story to explain. Winter League is special because its a small round-robin type setup. In the summer, you play only one game for 45 mins versus playing two 25 minute games in the winter. The other major difference between the two seasons is that our summer format can host from 80-100 players while our winter league can only handle 60-66.

Being that we are 20 players lighter in the Winter means we are 20 entry fees lighter too. Our summer program usually gives us a surplus in cash which we buy new equipment with or put a down payment on the gym for winter league, etc. With summer league being canceled this last year, we didn’t have extra funds to purchase equipment for this season. Your $25 went to your shirt, small web-admin fee, and the gym rental. We bought dodgeballs on credit and we our paying ourselves back with your mid-season donations. For that, we say thank you! Seriously, thank you for playing, thank you for being good sports, thank you for being wonderful guests at the Break the Barriers gym, and thank you for owning a piece of the league with your equipment donations.

If its your first season and/or you do not go to The Well Community Church: KEEP YOUR MONEY. We don’t want it. We want you to enjoy this season, its on us.

Any extra monies raised above and beyond the equipment needs will go into next years equipment purchases and/or gym rental downpayment. As always, the Well Dodgeball League is part of The Well Community Church and our books are transparent. All questions can be answered by Brandon Saubert. Donation handling onsite at Break the Barriers is through Justin Vartanian (red team) or Whitney Saubert (purple team). All others can be sent to The Well Community Church with memo: Dodgeball League.

New dodgeballs made there way on the scene tonight. Man, could those things fly! And bounce too! Made for some pretty fast and exciting games.

Clayton was at ‘Break the Barriers’ in Fresno Tuesday morning taking a look at a dodgeball league for adults.

First week was a blast! Blue and Tan are making a strong showing, but I see some teams that are way stronger then their record shows. Its gonna be an exciting season!!!!

Just want to satiate some of your appetites. We are working on getting Winter 2012 all setup. Hopefully we’ll have sign ups live in the next month to month-and-a-half. Stay tuned and keep your eye on our FB page and website. I will say that it will be at Break the Barriers again on Monday nights and begin around the end of January……..

Due to lack of gym and planning, we have decied to take a break from this year’s summer league. We will resume play for Winter 2012. We hope that all of you dodgeball athletes and fans have a great summer. See you in the winter.
